Os indicados ao prêmio Emmy de 2017 foram anunciados nesta quinta, 13.
Apesar de Game of Thrones ter sido uma das séries mais premiadas nos anos recentes, ela não oferece ameaça aos indicados deste ano: a trama não foi elegível, já que a sétima temporada estreia neste domingo, 16, ultrapassando o prazo estipulado pelos organizadores da premiação.
A categoria de Melhor Série Dramática, portanto, incluiu Westworld, também da HBO – que teve um total de 22 indicações –, Better Call Saul, The Handmaid’s Tale, This Is Us, e três produções da Netflix: House of Cards, Stranger Things e The Crown.
No que diz respeito à comédia, Veep e Modern Family aparecem novamente na corrida para Melhor Série de Comédia ou Musical, acompanhadas por Black-ish, Silicon Valley, Atlanta, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt e Master of None. Saturday Night Live, também reuniu uma boa soma de indicações, empatando com Westworld em 22.
A 69ª cerimônia anual do Emmy acontece no dia 17 de setembro, em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos. O evento do canal CBS será apresentado por Stephen Colbert, que já ganhou nove estatuetas do Emmy e é o apresentador do The Late Show.
