Guitarrista e compositor da banda australiana morreu neste sábado, 18, aos 64 anos de idade

O guitarrista e compositor Malcolm Young, fundador do AC/DC, morreu neste sábado, 18. Desde cedo, quando a notícia foi divulgada pela internet, diversos músicos, artistas, amigos e celebridades tomaram as redes sociais para lamentar a morte e fazer homenagens ao músico, que tinha 64 anos e estava afastado da banda australiana desde 2014, sofrendo de demência.
Ozzy Osbourne foi até o Twitter e postou uma foto de Young, escrevendo: “Muito triste em saber da morte de outro amigo, Malcolm Young. Sua falta será profundamente sentida. Deus abencoe o AC/DC”. Paul Stanley, vocalista e guitarrista do Kiss, chamou Young de “motor essencial” do AC/DC. “Um fim trágico para um ícone às vezes não celebrado. Um dos verdadeiramente grandes. RIP”, acrescentou.
No Instagram, o guitarrista do Guns N’ Roses, Slash, pediu “um momento de silêncio” para Malcolm Young, dizendo que este sábado é um dia monumentalmente triste para o rock and roll”. O baterista do Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy, por sua vez, contou que tinha acabado de sair de um palco coincidentemente na Austrália: “Muito triste… um dos maiores guitarristas rítmicos de todos os tempos (James Hetfield e Scott Ian seriam os primeiros a dizer isso)”.
Entre os nomes que homenagearam Malcolm Young estão Eddie Van Halen, Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, Prophets of Rage), Joe Satriani e Ryan Adams, entre muitos outros. Até mesmo alguns diretores de cinema, incluindo Edgar Wright, de Em Ritmo de Fuga (2017), e James Gunn, de Guardiões da Galáxia Vol. 2 (2017), escreveram palavras amistosas ao ex-guitarrista do AC/DC.
