Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwood e Keith Urban vão se apresentar no Grammy deste ano, de acordo com o anúncio que a Academia de Gravação fez nesta quarta, 18.

O Metallica está indicado ao prêmio de Melhor Música de Rock na edição deste ano do Grammy, com a faixa “Hardwired”. A banda prometeu ter “algo muito único e especial planejado para essa noite de celebração”, mas não entrou em detalhes.

No site oficial do Metallica, a banda disse “Primeiramente, foi uma honra ser indicado, mas agora isto?! Nós estamos mais do que animados em termos sido convidados para tocar no 59º Grammy… Faz três anos desde que fomos sortudos o bastante para participar da premiação quando nos apresentamos com o pianista chinês renomado mundialmente Lang Lang e agora estamos emocionados por sermos chamados de volta”.

“Church Bells”, de Carrie Underwood, está concorrendo na categoria de Melhor Performance Solo de Country, enquanto Keith Urban está indicado a Melhor Álbum de Country por Ripcord e Melhor Performance Solo de Country por “Blue Ain’t Your Color”.

A 59ª edição do Grammy, apresentada por James Corden, acontecerá no dia 12 de fevereiro no Staples Center, em Los Angeles, Estados Unidos. Beyoncé lidera as indicações ao próximo Grammy, com um total de nove citações, com Drake, Rihanna e Kanye West concorrendo, cada um deles, em oito categorias.

Na cerimônia de 2017, o Brasil será representado por Caetano Veloso e Gilberto Gil. Os baianos tropicalistas tiveram o recente disco ao vivo Dois Amigos, Um Século de Música, que registra a turnê acústica homônima, indicado na categoria de Melhor Álbum de World Music.
