Após acusação de sexismo, Grammy 2019 abre espaço para as mulheres; veja os indicados

A Academia Nacional de Artes e Ciências de Gravação dos Estados Unidos – Recording Academy – revelou anunciou nesta sexta, 7, os indicados ao Grammy 2019.

Chama atenção o alto número de mulheres a aparecem na lista, principalmente depois da cerimônia de 2018, na qual os pedidos de maior diversidade e representação de gênero foi assunto amplamente abordado.

Dos 86 prêmios entregues em 2018, apenas 17 foram para mulheres ou bandas com vocalistas femininas. Já para a próxima edição, elas receberam 15 nomeações entre as quatro maiores categorias - na 60ª edição foram apenas seis. Cardi B lidera entre as mulheres, com seis indicações.

Mesmo assim, Kendrick Lamar e Drake lideram a lista de nomeados ao prêmio, com oito e sete nomeações respectivamente – Lamar angariou indicações também pela trilha sonora de Pantera Negra. Logo depois dos rappers há uma grande quantidade de artistas jovens, menos conhecidos pelo público geral, e mulheres.

A 61ª cerimônia de premiação acontece no dia 10 de fevereiro do próximo ano e traz um aumento de concorrentes em algumas de suas principais categorias, agora são oito os indicados a Melhor Gravação, Música do Ano, Disco do Ano e Artista Revelação. As 80 outras categorias mantém o número de cinco indicados em cada.

Os recém indicados os Globo de Ouro, Lady Gaga e Bradley Cooper também estão concorrendo a prêmios no Grammy. Eles aparecem na lista quatro vezes com "Shallow", da trilha sonora de Nasce uma Estrela. 

Recentemente, a Recording Academy anunciou 900 novos membros do comitê de votação, justamente para aumentar a diversidade entre indicados e vencedores do prêmio. Todos os ingressantes têm menos de 39 anos, são mulheres e/ou não caucasianos.
