Cena final de Mad Men foi planejada no início das filmagens da série, diz criador

Em recente entrevista ao The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Weiner, criador de Mad Men, afirmou que a cena final da série foi planejada durante as filmagens da primeira temporada, em 2007. “A ideia de que Don Draper terminaria o seriado em ashram, ou algo do tipo, surgiu quando apresentei a primeira temporada à AMC”.

“Lista de desejos” de Mad Men revela ideias de criador para o fim da série.

“Foi um processo em duas etapas: eles gostaram do piloto, mas queriam saber como o seriado terminaria”, afirmou Weiner. “Isso foi antes que todo mundo demandasse que o enredo estivesse totalmente escrito antes de ser vendido. Eles não queriam uma Bíblia, mas gostariam de saber como seriam os episódios semanais. Mostrei para ele que queríamos registrar toda a década. Essa era a imagem. E o final era esse, Don sentado na posição da Flor de Lótus com um sorriso no rosto”.

Após a quarta temporada de Mad Men, Weiner colocou o final desejado em ação ao montar o set para reviver o que ele chamou de “o melhor comercial da história”. “O enredo que aconteceu durante os 39 primeiro episódios já tinha a tensão entre Draper e a McCann Erickson, e isso era algo que teríamos de lidar durante todo o tempo”, afirmou o produtor.

Matthew Weiner fala da expectativa para o capítulo final de Mad Men.

Este ano será a última chance se Jon Hamm ganhar o Emmy de Melhor Ator Principal. A premiação acontecerá em 20 de setembro.

“Sei que é a última oportunidade para ele com esse personagem, mas sempre torci para ele como torço agora”, explicou Weiner. “Não tem série sem ele. Ele criou o personagem. Ele habitava fisicamente aquele cara, ele fazia um desempenho muito sutil e impressionante de todos os tempos”, justifica o criador de Mad Men. A 67ª edição do Emmy acontece no dia 20 de setembro, em Los Angeles, com apresentação do ator Andy Samberg.
