Journals é uma coleção de desenhos e rascunhos escritos por Kurt Cobain do final dos anos 1980 até sua morte, em 1994. 

No livro, publicado pela Riverhead Books em novembro de 2002, há uma lista com os 50 discos favoritos do artista, além de notas perspicazes sobre cada um deles.

Ao mencionar o álbum Colossal Youth, dos Young Marble Giants, por exemplo, ele escreveu: "A música relaxa você, a atmosfera é ótima. É apenas uma música legal e agradável. Eu amo isso. O som da bateria eletrônica deve ser o mais extravagante de todos os tempos."

O líder do Nirvana também não escondeu seu amor pela - polêmica - banda The Frogs e incluiu o álbum It's Only Right and Natural, de 1989, como parte do repertório.
